Rum Bum Beach Bar operated by South Beach Ltd is a seasonal business generally operating between April and October. Other than fulltime permanent employees all other staff are hired as seasonal employees.
Seasonal employees are generally hired for a 7-month season, but continued employment for the duration of the season is contingent upon the operating requirements of the business. The nature of the business generally sees a significant decline at the beginning of September, following Labour Day. This decline in business may result in reduced hours or termination of seasonal employment.
Seasonal employment at South Beach Ltd does not constitute continuous employment. The Company does not guarantee re-employment in a subsequent year. All seasonal employees are required to reapply for a position following the end of the season, and at least 30 days before the commencement of the following season, i.e. between October 1 and March 31.
Seasonal employees are not entitled to paid vacation, or paid sick benefits. Seasonal employees will be obliged to participate in health and social insurance schemes as mandated by law.
